Mill Green School is a co-educational Community Special School for learners aged 14 – 19. The school was lucky enough to be the first new school build of the โPriority School Building Projectโ (PSBP)ย and was completed September 2014.
Mill Green is locatedย in Parr withinย St. Helens and serves a large geographical area. It is one of two schools catering for this type of special need within the local authority. Almost all of the learners arrive and leave on buses and taxis. Mill Green provides out of hours opportunities for learners within school and the local community. We have ย wide ranging community links.ย We bring parents, carers and our community together whenever possible through open days, presentations and social gatherings with the learners.
“Mill Green’s uniqueness is our commitment to encourage, celebrate and share every step as a success. (September 2013)”
This is supported by our overriding aim to offer equality of opportunity through a personalised curriculum both within our local and wider community. Mill Green is not a faith school but we enjoy strong links with our local church.
Mill Green is a Specialist Arts College, providing considerable opportunities for all learners with a positive impact on learner progress including narrowing gaps in other curriculum areas.
14-19 provision is regularly reviewed and enhanced by significant curriculum developments and strengthened key stage 4 transition programmes. A progressive Foundation Learning Programme enhances outstanding provision.ย Appropriate accreditation and qualifications for all current learners meets individual needs and interests and offers a wide range of opportunities within our accreditation framework.
As an active community partner, we continue to maintain and develop strong links with the local and wider community. Community links are strengthened by addressing needs through specialism resources.
